A DAY IN VENICE: New Album In 2023 – Two Tracks Available Plus A Homage To Cathedral

A Day In Venice is a Doom/Gothic Metal project from Andrej Kralj, a dynamic artist from Trieste, Italy. At the very beginning of his endeavour as a musician, long before A Day In Venice, Andrej founded Narcotic Luxuria along with the drummer Paolo Marchesich (Sinestesia) and the keyboard player Alberto Bravin (Sinestesia) in 2003. They performed live shows at festivals and venues in North Italy, and released a 5-track demo, then split in late 2004.

One year after the rise of A Day In Venice, in 2014, Andrej composed and recorded a full-length album. Playing almost all the instruments, with the help of Paolo Marchesich (drums), Martina Feri (vocals), Goran Ruzzier (vocals), and released it under the new name, A Day in Venice.

Andrej has written and produced three full-length albums in his home studio on the Karst plateau. A Day in Venice (2014), Singles (2018), III (2019), an EP – Lights (2020), and two singles TWIOYS (August 2020), Ophidian Queen (September 2020). Each album has a progression in style, from the first doom metal influences to the latest alternative/post-rock.

The band is recording the fourth album and, the release will be in 2023. Two tracks that will be part of the album are already available and, you can check them in the players below.

TWIOYS and Ophidian Queen are dense with dark, alternative rock elements and is marked by broad use of shamanic percussions and healing instrument.

In the meantime, until the release of the alongside A Days In Venice gem, you can also check out a brand new music video. Ebony tears in all their splendour! A Cover from Forest of Equilibrium (1991), a homage to Cathedral, the masters of doom metal.
